The next step was to give the ceiling a skim coat of plaster. There had been a section cut out and a repair job done (badly) at some point previously and we wanted to get rid of the texture.
Considering this was the first ceiling my dad had plastered, he did a damn fine job!
When stipping out the old tiles around the window we discovered quite a gap so filled this with some expanding foam before plastering.
Wall then levelled out and plastered around the window.
Dad admires his handywork with the plaster.
Next step was to drill the holes for the new 4 LED downlighters
